Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure in which the upper arms are given a more youthful and aesthetically beautiful appearance. The most frequent indication is an excessive and hanging fold of skin in the back part of the upper arms, or “wings”. Excess skin occurs mainly as a result of heavy weight loss and aging.

During the operation, the surgeon makes an incision on the inside of the upper arm, removes the excess skin along with subcutaneous fat, then tightens the remaining skin and finally closes the wound with stitches. At Amsel Clinic, humeroplasty is often combined with liposuction to achieve a better result.

The recovery period varies depending on the extent of the procedure, but most patients can return to their daily activities within a few weeks.
