Gastroscopy under anesthesia is a medical procedure in which an endoscope, or stomach tube, is passed through the mouth into the stomach. In this way, it is possible to examine the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. During the examination, tissue samples can be taken and treatment procedures can be performed.

Gastroscopy is often necessary to clarify the cause of abdominal pain. The examination is informative, but can be unpleasant and poorly tolerated by the patient when done while awake.

Amsel Clinic offers the opportunity to perform a gastroscopy examination under general anesthesia at a time convenient for you, painlessly and without worries.

Patients can go home 30 to 60 minutes after the procedure. Driving is not allowed until the next morning.
